Hi 17 year old with limited medical knowledge here, but when I was younger - about 11/12 - I played a lot of sport and had something called “Severs”

We had someone tape her ankles before her last soccer game and she did not limp so maybe that’s all we need! Still going to dr though to be sure!

My son had that. We stretched, iced and did some ankle strengthening. Really helped!

hi med student here, first thing I thought of was “enthesitis” (inflammation where tendon inserts into bone), common in kids especially after activity

Um, take her to a doctor. Why would you ask medical advise on here with just a video of her walking?

Severs disease! I imagine anyway. I had this when I was younger! It’s to do with Achilles’ tendons being too tight when growing. That why the tip toe

I played soccer from 4 to college and maybe do extra ankle stretches before and after games. Ice after and heat the next day. Tape or get ankle braces

I have Ehlers-danlos syndrome and was a very good athlete, but I would be in terrible pain after sports and it was often labeled as growing pains

see a physio, my daughter had severs. caused by growing too fast, resolved with stretching and limiting types of excercise and inserts in shoes

If accompanied by other symptoms (extreme fatigue, headaches, light sensitivity, anxiety, etc) this could be Lyme. Prob not if this is the only sympto

Sounds like severs it’s the same as osgood-schlatter but in the ankle. Common in kids, not dangerous and gets better with rest & gentle stretches x

I’m a teen athlete with a lot of medical issues. “Growing pains” aren’t really a thing, so see a doctor and advocate for your daughter!!

I remember doing this but I had an undiagnosed connective tissue disorder. If it’s just a 1-2 time thing I wouldn’t worry, it takes time to adjust

She needs more ankle support and to work on ankle strength too. Have you brought it up to her coach?

Be careful with a growing pain diagnosis especially if it persists. I was told I had growing pain for 10+ years when in reality I had something else

Does she seem extra flexible? Have any other things that sprain/strain easily? Bruise easily?

I’d say severs but if it’s that bad I’d take her in and cast / boot her for a couple weeks
