Feeling this song in my bones: Thinking back to my first TV appearances, the most criticism I got wasn’t from strangers it was from women. Some on the internet, some around me in real life. “You’re too immature.” “Too spoiled.” “Too skinny.” “Watch your eating, you’re getting fat.” “Go back to your country.” “Stop the plastic surgery.” “You look like…” All of it. When you choose to live your life publicly, you open yourself up to that kind of noise. And I won’t lie it used to hurt. I was 19, 20 years old… No one prepares you for national TV embarrassment or how deeply that kind of judgment can cut. I went through some of the darkest moments of my life — depression, panic attacks, even suicidal thoughts. But God got me through it. And the woman I am now? She would never let anyone make her question her identity, her worth, or her strength again. That’s why this matters to me so much. Supporting women has to be real not performative, not convenient. Not clapping when it’s easy, and not tearing each other down when someone shines a little too bright. Like Sofia Isella said in Everybody Supports Women we’re celebrated until we’re seen as competition. Admired until our ambition feels like ‘too much.’ True support is showing up for each other with respect, with love, and without jealousy. It’s women supporting women not because it looks good, but because we know what it feels like to walk through fire and still rise. And because when one of us wins, we all do. #women #iamwoman #growthmindset #everybodysupportswomen #sofiaisella
