@thefrenchiegardener: Grow your own Turmeric in pots & containers 🌱💚 It’s actually easy & rewarding to grow Turmeric and the process is similar to Ginger. And this is great because both combined in a juicer would provide you with a very healthy juice. I love to have a shot of them every morning! It’s packed with antioxidants. * Follow me to learn how to grow food in pots & containers on a balcony, terrace or patio * Guidelines to grow your own turmeric in pots : 🌱 Make sure to buy organic one not treated with anti sprout products. Select one that already has the little sprouting eyes. 🌱 You do not need to keep turmeric soaked into water, I only add a bottom layer of water in the beginning and then I spray water every day to keep it humid enough to sprout. Be patient, this can take up to 2 weeks. 🌱 Treat it like an indoor plant, stems will develop. Don’t let the soil dry out and provide it with natural light 🌱 Transplant in a bigger pot outdoor (20L / 3 Gallon) but not before your last spring frost date, it need some warm weather. Make sure to have a fresh & rich soil! 🌱 Add mulch such as straw when transplanted to keep more soil humidity. 🌱 Place it full sun in spring, you can move it to partly shade in summer 🌱 Harvest will come in around 8-9 months. No major maintenance needed apart watering from time to time to not let the soil fully dry Happy Growing & Green Love to you 💚 #plantbased #turmeric #DIY #gardening #growyourownfood #fyfyfy #containergarden #plants
