I have no issue with blocking for hardware, towel bars, or glass cabinets. for basic wood cabinets this is a waste of time

I suspend my cabinets from the roof trusses & leave a 6 inch air gap between the cabinet & wall for air circulation. Plenty of kitchen steam.
