PROJECTOR SEWING! Anytime I share a reel with my projector in it, I get so many questions about it so here are all the details. I use an Epson ultra short projector, and I hook it up to my laptop using a USB-C cable. There’s also special software I downloaded so that my projector connects to my laptop. I chose an ultra short projector because my set up lends itself to one. I have a shelf right beside my cutting table where it can sit and it projects a very large area. The projection space is actually larger than my actual cutting table. I bought my projector used from eBay and it cost about $175 Canadian. I use @patternprojector primarily to project my PDF patterns, but I have also manually calibrated the projector so that I can use it directly for screen mirroring. This is especially helpful when I want to adjust a pattern in real time in @adobedesign illustrator I can compare my to my pattern piece directly and change it in real time. The only reason I don’t use this as much because my calibration tends to get thrown off because my projector can get moves slightly by my kids or myself and it’s a little bit finicky to recalibrate. There’s a Facebook group called Sewing and it is a literal information on projectors. There are many types of projectors that you can get, including ceiling mount ones and the fb group has documents with all the info on which type will suit your needs and how to set them up and use them with PDF patterns. It’s incredible. If you have any questions, feel free to leave them in the comments ! #projectorsewing #sewing #sewingtips #sewist
