You always get triggered when I talk about coffee or chocolate, but I’m gonna keep doing it anyway! Coffee, tea, chocolate- all of these contain methylxanthines, a family of compounds that includes caffeine, theobromine etc… We know very clearly that this family of compounds causes loss of minerals like calcium, along with magnesium, manganese, and many others…. 🚩🚩 Mineral loss is NOT a good thing. You want to hold on to as many of the nutrients you consume as possible- not lose them in your pee! In the case of caffeine, there are studies showing that consumption of moderate amounts of coffee can lead to bone loss in women who weren’t eating enough calcium in their diet (<800mg) In my experience, many people neglect calcium as a nutrient and do not get enough of this. The RDA for calcium is 1000mg/1200mg for men/women, but unless you are getting this from a high quality bone meal (consider Bone Matrix from @heartandsoilsupplements) or dairy (I prefer raw!) you probably aren’t getting enough calcium either! 😬 Plant sources of calcium are a JOKE, these are all very POORLY bioavailable due to oxalates, phytic acid etc present in vegetables… And I know many of you continue to drink coffee. I still love you, but I fear this worsening your mineral status, possibly having a negative impact on your bone health, and maybe even worsening cravings… Yes, mineral loss from things like caffeine can also lead to food cravings… if you don’t absorb and assimilate the nutrients from the foods you eat, it makes sense that your body would keep craving more food. 🤌 If you truly want to thrive, I strongly believe it’s worth cutting caffeine and other methylxanthines out of your life completely… this means, tea, coffee, chocolate etc.. Trust me on this one! I would also recommend eating an evolutionarily appropriate diet aka an #animalbased#animalbasedans (either fresh or desiccated like @heartandsoilsupplements), meat, fruit, honey, and raw dairy... Welcome to #theremembering🏹
