@theyoungnonno: What was your biggest garden success in 2023? Narrowing this down was not easy! But here it goes… 🥇Eggplant 🍆. My best harvest of these ever, by a mile. Massive fruit after massive fruit, deep into the season, topped off with a 2.75lb monster 🥈Leeks 🌱. It was my first year growing these in a dedicated space and they turned out better than expected. I’ll still be harvesting them into early 2024. 🥉Carrots 🥕. Huge, crunchy and colourful. A constant supply from July through December. 4️⃣ Tomatoes 🍅. Overall, my total harvest was about 15% lower than normal. But growing a personal record of 48lbs+ on a single plant counts for something. 5️⃣ Cucumbers 🥒. After years of battling cucumber beetles I’ve finally mastered the best way to beat these buggers. I’ll be sharing that secret in 2024. Honourable mentions go to bush beans, cantaloupe, blackberries and garlic. Now only 4 weeks until the first seeds of 2024 are sown.
