@tailoredfitpt: The beauty of exercise lies in its versatility; a single movement can have multiple benefits. In this instance, I've adapted my single-arm cable exercise to simultaneously stretch my thoracic spine (mid-back) through rotation. When the screen displays "Stretch," I use the cable's weight to apply a loaded stretch to my mid-back rotators, leaning towards the cables. This part is going to feel especially good for folks who have tightness in between their shoulder blades. Conversely, when "Contract" appears, I perform a standard horizontal row with an added twist in the opposite direction. Interestingly, this also engages my obliques significantly. As I initiate the contraction, I feel a strong oblique contraction on the side opposite to the arm holding the cable. Try this exercise and share your experience in the comments.
