@catholic.photography: Altar of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary The main scene shows the sculpture of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The lower level shows the apostles, surprised by the absence of the Mother of God, who has been sleeping until recently. The second level shows Mary rising in the skies and the entire composition is crowned by an image of the Holy Trinity. At the top are placed symbols of the four Evangelists: Matthew (angel), Luke (ox), John (eagle) and Mark (lion). On the wings of the altarpiece are four scenes from the life of Mary, complementing the main composition. The altarpiece, which is located in the Bialystok basilica, is among the important works of Polish Neo-Gothic. This is probably the last post for this year.
