@yitaigeng: I have a lot of leftover fabric scraps from my other sewing projects. Instead of throwing them away, I decided to use them to make a tote bag. With each project I do, I save every scrap, no matter how small, especially because many of these scraps come from vintage textiles from the 1940s to the 1980s. They’re extremely precious, and I want to honor the history they hold rather than throw them away. For this project, I cut each scrap into equal sizes before sewing every little square together to create a patchwork pattern. As tedious as this process was, it was incredibly rewarding and fun to make. I think it’s important to create less waste and use every single piece of material we have instead of throwing it away. By doing this, we not only come up with creative solutions to be more sustainable but also make unique items. If you think sewing a tote bag is too time-consuming, you can also use fabric scraps for stuffing. If you have any other recommendations for the use of fabric scraps, please comment below, and I will consider them for my next project. #yitai #designer #fashiondesign #fashiondesigner #handmade #quilting #fabric #recyclefabric #recycle #sustainable

I keep all my scraps. I make decorative pillows, doll clothes, quilts, clothing, and I use the scraps to fix damaged clothing. I use to make crazy quilt patch bags. Using embroidery, beads, buttons and whatever I had a laying around. A lot of work it they made beautiful bags.

Pocket tshirts with the various scraps would be such a cute collection! Or line the hems of shirts with them (collar, arms, and bottom)

@yitaigeng Just subscribed! Love your thoughts, and patchwork. Do you sew hats? I have made a few patchwork ones, but not as same size as yours :)
