Distinguish between planning and documenting. UML is a standard for documenting. For planning just scribble as fast as you can so you can get ideas and review from your team asap.

i just scribble down what i need to do, then do a prototype, then when i know how i wanna do it i just go for it, then write the documentation based on that 😅

Lmao with a complex system you won’t even prototype the whole thing and the actually problems will come with the details that you implemente in the actual one. Doesn’t mean you need a proper UML
