I think accepting a hand so you don't trip & fall is definitely covered under the "not dying by the law" concept. Same way it would be fine to help someone up who fell or is about to fall.

It’s interesting how different religions are. When I walk into church there’s an official greeter who shakes everyone’s hands and says “Welcome to church. We’re so glad you’re here.” Culture I guess.

What about a child with an aunt or uncle they are not related to? If your brother and SIL have a daughter one day, would your husband, the child’s uncle not related by blood, be able to hold her?
