I know 4 people who had bladder cancer, all around the Sioux City area. Three rivers here and multiple streams flow through this area. There has been several locations in this area with contaminated soils. Hide plants, manufacturing facilities for batteries, TVs and Rochester products who dumped contaminated materials. This contaminated a city well. Bomgars built a large warehouse over the sight. The federal cleanup sites around SUX haven’t been cleaned up. Farm chemicals are just as toxic! Most shallow farm wells are contaminated. Farms in the area used to spread waste sludge from the SUX waste water treatment plant in their fields! Other states have condemned any farm grounds that have done this do to nitrates and heavy metals.

so scary. nebraska here, I wonder if it's side effects from pesticides on the crops that end up in the air and water. I'd be interested to see who drinks tap and who has a purifier in their home

iowa used to be so great for healthcare. I have a extremely rare kidney disease and I'm the worst case the state has seen. right now I'm having to find a doctor to take my care because 2 doctors now have dropped me as a patient because I'm too complicated. they see my med list and treat me like a addict..its not my fault I was born this way, I've been stable for 2 yrs.. and now I'm going back to 0. no one wants me..I dont know what to do anymcatscave had 106 kidney surgeries over 300 catscans.

My husband was recently diagnosed with leukemia at 31. Otherwise in excellent health. Before this I wasn’t aware of Iowa’s high cancer rate. What can we do to demand change at the government level?
