the "coloring" added is astaxanthin, the same pigment that wild salmon get from eating krill. Both salmon would be white if their diet had no astaxanthin. "Atlantic" salmon is perfectly healthy.

I used to work for a large fish feed producer. Fish feed consists of 50% fish meal. Some of this fish meal is sourced from areas that still use pesticides that are banned in North America and Europe. The fish meal can be contaminated with things like DDT. I don't eat farmed salmon.

I’m from the Atlantic provinces so I can tell you our salmon isn’t farm. It’s freshly caught wild. Costco might sell firm salmon. So be a little more clear I want you preach there.
