sit up more so your head is upright , you can adjust your mouthpiece by twisting it if you need. Also i found that doing scale warm ups really help

investing in some different styles of mouthpieces as they all provide different tones. I use a SYOS Spark as they have a bright sound. smoky SYOS sound dark and airy, very smooth jazzy feel
