we have a society that doesn’t support women or mothers or raising children effectively… financially, healthcare wise, childcare wise, failing school systems, lack of community

How many kids do you have?

Hm. I think it's more than that. Society today expects parents to be perfect 100% of the time. Society thinks raising children is simple even though we verbally acknowledge it's a complex full time 1

Our parents pawned us off on their parents and still had a life so to speak but now we have kids and not the same support. Add having special needs kids and your "village" is near 0. I love being a

every time an expecting mother shows excitement about her baby, “seasoned” parents immediately jump to “you just WAIT, you’ll see it gets worse, etc.” but we’re supposed to think they’re happy? hmmm…

Uh no, sacrifice is part of it, but the bigger issue is the lack of support for mothers. Lack of paid maternity leave, lack of affordable childcare, lack of reliable jobs for mothers, etc.

Because now women work over 40 hours, get little time off, unpaid maternity leave, daycare is insane, by the time we’re done with our day it’s 10pm, we have no time for our relationships or ourselves

I’m so glad I don’t feel like this…. My son is my world and I would 100% give my life to him than have the life I had before him 💋

I don’t think non parents understand the feeling of once you become a parent. That moment your child is born you think selflessly about them. You are not a factor anymore.

Heavy on a society that no longer values responsibility & sacrifice I’d add that no longer has many morals in general including accountability.

We also live in a society that doesn't support people who have kids. I've always heard "it takes a village" but someone's there is no village. Sometimes there is no family or friend support. On top-

We also have a society that no longer values children the way it used to older people used to look at children with bright eyes, and now they have become an annoyance somehow but I love being a mom🤷🏽♀️

I have 5 kids. I personally have never felt that way. I love having them around, but I do have friends who have felt that way. I feel like society pressures some ppl into having kids when they didn't want them.

My biggest gripe with children is I won’t have them if my partner isn’t ready to sacrifice for them to the level I am & a lot of people don’t see kids as the commitment they truly are

I think a lot of it stems from no hope for the future too tho. Like a lot of people are afraid of the future… why bring kids into a miserable life. Not always but it’s a factor too.

A lot of people also don’t have kids because they know they wouldn’t be fit parents. And that’s a selfless choice

Being a parent is easily one of the hardest things I have done, but the most rewarding it has shown me a purpose to life that I never even knew was possible

I think she is surrounded by younger people in Hollywood who are thinking me me me. They are happy their parents “sacrificed” to have them but aren’t willing to do same because they are so important

This I can agree with. But I do disagree with her telling something her friends said in confidence. We may not know which of her friends said it but I’m sure they do. I totally see both sides.

Village is not villaging. And I am not saying people should do things for me and my kids. Just being more understanding when it comes to kids in public spaces. It’s always side eyes and etc
