Disagree. I retired at 59 from nursing. Now 63. I am busier, more active, have learned MANY new activities and I focus on my health, peace, happiness. I will live longer and happier because I retired!

I’m 71, retired at 62. People think I’m my 50’s, I have more energy, keep really active and constantly looking for ways to improve my mind. Retirement was the best thing I’ve done for myself.

I agree with you. Retired early, within 6 mo. I needed something more. I have been volunteering 4 days a week for the past 9 yrs. It keeps me mentally engaged with other people & have a purpose.

Maybe it’s the opposite. Those that are in good health and have energy choose to work. Those that no longer have energy feel it’s time to stop.

I have worked fairly physical jobs, standing in one spot for hours, and shift work. I’m 60 and retiring in a few weeks. I cannot wait to do what I want, when I want. Spend more time with family, especially grandkids.

Great story. 👏 I’m 52, and could retire comfortably with no debt BUT at this point I see my small business as way will MAINTAIN my mental, emotional, and physical health long into old age.

I can agree with a lot of what you are saying. I would add that we need to work less and take longer vacations. Life is getting short and we need to do and experience all that we can.
