dont flush your transmissions especially after a certain amount of miles, it takes out all the friction material and can cause your transmissions to slip

If it’s high mileage 150,000 used car and not sure if it’s been changed should you change it people say it starts to slip after changing it what’s your opinion

06’ 5.4 3 valve triton bought at 210k currently at 263k miles and haven’t done any transmission maintenance only topped off with fluid, haven’t had any problems

it's hydraulic fluid and it's designed for those conditions. it doesn't get water in it or outside contaminants since it's in a closed system so why change it

I was told if you don't know history then DONT CHANGE IT if car has over 100k miles. I want to change in my sons car but scared cause it has 120k miles

I can't buy a brand new car so they all have had 150k+ , not changing the fluid in fear of causing worse issues.
