let's go over how would that "ac saver" affect the system 1. compressor breath around that coil. that ac saver would cause restriction which will cause compressor to work harder. ( think about you running with a mask on) 2. compressor amp draw will increase because of the restriction and compressor will be overheating due to the amps increase. 3. fan motor ,capacitor and contact will die sooner because whenever the compressor amps increase, the amps increase also pass through the capacitor and contactor. and these are small parts that will go bad sooner. the only help you can give to your AC. is clean the coil every summer, and install a hard start kit or soft start to the compressor.

if that's your ac unit, you need a new one. it looks to be about 30yo. this will only give temporary relief. the water will rot the coils

You know some stuff is just made to take your money for people who don’t know any better. What that does is restrict that flow of the air over the within the air conditioner. It really don’t help by running water over the unit so don’t waste your money. Now you have to have bills, a high water bill and a high electric bill lol

First of all, using the word humidifier is incorrect. As a 25 year veteran of the HVAC field. What you were allowing the condenser to do is reject more heat. Humidity has nothing to do with it.
