They actually fixed it! Somebody reached out to the person who designed Mac and said it was wrong, that their friend was a wheelchair user and they gave some help and ideas to the person. They were very supportive and eager to learn how to improve, and they have! They've redesigned the wheelchair and it's gonna be out in the next update 💞

I haven’t played date everything and I’ve only seen the sprite but I noticed the same thing with their chair right away. I think an electric wheelchair would be sick for them, something like where the bottom part is the actual computer and Mac could just use their monitor up top connected to their arm rest(s). I’m disabled but I’m able bodied enough to not use a wheelchair but I really enjoy researching mobility aids and incorporating them in my art. I’m pretty happy someone else made a video about this and I’m glad to know they’re getting redesign bc I didn’t know that. There’s a lot to learn here, ty!

when i first say a mac playthrough i really was confused on the entire design of the wheelchair (and i myself don’t even use a wheelchair i just searched way too much into wheelchairs because my ex art teacher was in one but im getting off topic) and i really like your opinion on it lol. I’ve been wanting to redesign mac and was hoping i could use your ideas for it because they are just super cool ideas and i love them and really wanna use them but i feel like i need permission or smthing 😭

Spoilers, but I wonder if Mac should have gotten a power chair when you update them. It would thematically make sense, they start with a chair that they can’t manoeuvre themself and have to ask for help, and after they update, they are given a much better chair that THEY get to control. I feel like the character has so much potential yet that was wasted.

I’d think it would be because they are like designed around tech so their weels would move using a touch pad or something, and maybe the chair sides are because they need the support on the arms to type comfortably 24/7

Yeh immediately I’d think he should be in a power chair because like computer? But also rq why is wheelchair rep often also like computer nerd types? No hate cos I get that a lot of disabled people are into tech based hobbies because they’re very accessible but like not all of us are into that kinda thing.

not trying to hate but ya is such a non-issue it's a game about dating objects plus the redesign took all the fun aspects out of it like the keyboard foot rests
