People, don’t judge things just by how they look — like judging a book by its cover. I’ve met many men in Germany who came here in the same way. All of them are grieving because, in search of a better life, they were forced to leave their wives and children behind. Not a single one of them dared to bring their family on a dangerous journey of 5,000 kilometers or more. And now, after managing to somewhat rebuild their lives in Germany, they are trying every possible way to bring their families to a safe country legally, safely, and without risk. These people once had everything in their own countries — just like many of you do — but war forced them to flee to our countries, where people now look down on them and judge them unfairly. All they want is a safe life for their families. I’m not saying they’re all perfect people. Of course, there are always individuals who break the law — but that happens in every country and in every nation. I truly hope God never puts you in a similar situation. Because we will never truly understand other people until we walk a mile in their shoes.
