Fandom Nerd Shark :
Okay just for the fun of it - I’ve been studying cluster B disorders for the past 3 years and am planning to pursue it as a career, so I wanted to share my thoughts on which characters may or may not have BPD (by speculation and how they’re written, not necessarily by the writers intent). I left out the characters I didn’t recognize btw
- I believe Spinel and Jinx were actually intentionally written to have bpd. They’re both some of my favorite bpd representation in media, wonderfully written imo. especially jinx.
- Bella just had attachment issues because of that specific relationship. I think she could have a lot of issues, but from memory I don’t think she had bpd. If she did, it was very quiet BPD.
- Pinkie pie definitely doesn’t have bpd. I think she has adhd, and the crash outs she has (as depicted in the video) can also be related to adhd as people with it can sometimes experience emotional fluctuations that can be hard to control (but I’m not as knowledgeable on ADHD so I’m not sure how to explain it better ^^’)
- Harley Quinn would definitely have HPD (histrionic personality disorder), not BPD. There’s a video up on YouTube by a liscenced therapist discussing it further if you’re interested ^^ (the channel is called Cinema Therapy btw). There’s a lot of overlap between the two, but they’re very different.
- Elsa is an interesting one. I do think she could have quiet bpd, and the way she lashes out her ice powers in fear and anger, resulting in accidentally hurting her loved ones, and then her clear reaction of guilt and fear if what she’s done, on top of the fact that her kingdom viewed her as a monster, is all so accurate to bpd I’m actually disappointed that Disney didn’t pounce on the opportunity to make it canon.
