Not all science is sacred. STEM is crucial but a lot of “research” grants go to ideological grift and academic nepotism. Cancel the fluff and only fund what matters, the rest can go hold bake sales 🍰

As much as I applaud them for this, those elected officials don’t care, they know what they are doing, and chose evil/greed. The scientists would best be using their time and talents building for the resistance, not begging people to respect them, but MAKING THEM respect.

Am I wrong that they could fund their own research rather then the tax payer funding it. I’m almost certain that their research becomes their own and they profit from the research and the tax payer gets nothing in return.

I work with a GI doctor at the VA who also does research and he said that all of the cutbacks have set research back 30 years.
