@jesuslovesjasleen: A few weeks ago, I saw a sprouting seed on my friend’s windowsill. One of them had mold, and I said, “I think this one’s no good.” She looked at it and said, “Actually, that’s normal. When seeds germinate, they can mold a little. It’s part of the process.” I didn’t know it then, but the Lord brought that moment back to me weeks later, right in the middle of a season where everything feels like it’s breaking, shedding, and falling apart. Because that’s what happens when a seed begins to grow. The husk breaks. The outer shell, the covering, splits open. It decays. And all around it, that decay deteriorates into the soil. It may smell. It may draw in bugs. It looks like loss. But the Gardener knows better. That decay becomes nutrients. The old form becomes food for the new life. There is no wasted part of the process. The parts of you that are falling away are being folded into the soil to feed what’s coming next. What protected you in one season may not go with you into the next, but it is still for your good. Jesus said in John 12:24: “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone. But if it dies, it bears much fruit.” This is the sacred in-between. You might feel bare. You might feel like nothing is blooming yet. But the root is forming. The fruit is coming. And the Lord, the Gardener,is still right there, tending to you. Here’s some practical encouragement if this resonates with you: • Start your mornings with stillness. Before you bloom, you need to root. Take five quiet minutes with God before you start the day. • Journal what’s falling off. Are there old habits, thought patterns, or roles you’re shedding? Write them down. Let them go. • Trust the nutrients. The pain, the mistakes, the past: they don’t disqualify you. Ask God how He’s using them to grow you. • Surround your soil with light. That could mean worship, scripture reminders, or people who water your spirit, not drain it. • Be gentle with yourself. Growth isn’t loud. It’s sacred, slow, and often invisible. You are not being buried. You are being planted.
