I agree with this. It’s jarring when you meet someone in real life and they look nothing like their photos. I stopped using filters a few years ago on all my socials- actually made me realize I hadn’t changed my pfp here bc I don’t post so thx 😂 I think too as we get older, it just feels really silly to use them.

I occasionally use filters because I don’t wear makeup all the time 😂 there are some filters that completely alter how you look. I’m not into those 😂

I'm just going to say this really quick. Women are taught that are value is based on our appearance. Even knowing that that's not true, we still live in a society that places that value on us whether we like it or not. Scientifically, if you are trying to get a job and you're a woman, if you're wearing glasses, you're more likely to get the job. If there are two people who are equally qualified and they are both wearing glasses, the person that is going to be chosen is the person that is deemed most attractive. And yes, this is a fact. I wish it wasn't. There are reasons why people do these things.

I'm going to keep filtering. I'm married not looking for anyone else. I don't always feel like putting make up on and if I don't put make up on I am usually asked are you sick? Are you tired? I will be married 10 years next month and my husband and I met online. I don't use filters for others I use them to help me feel normal when I dont want to waste my make up. Especially for under 200 views.🙄

I have never once used a filter in my life. GenX didn’t grow up w that sh*t! No extensions. No Botox or lip fillers. No fake talons. No false spiders on my eyelids. I’m just a girl in my jeans, concert shirts, Martens & Vans. Like me or don’t. IDGAF. 🤘🏻
