experts should not have ultimate authority. “experts” also claimed that black ppl had differently shaped skulls and are therefore not human. “experts” once believed that god was in space. When you create this hierarchy you reinforce domination. I trust “experts” and academics myself but by no means do i think they “know” the ultimate truth nor should we ever say they do.

I have people argue with me all the time on gentle parenting in real life (BS in child dev. and MSW) while also complimenting me on how well my kids behave and how open they are with me but you just told me kids need to be popped in order to listen. It’s almost like I know what I’m talking about. Though gentle parenting isn’t a real thing. It’s authoritative parenting with some Gestalt mixed in. Some random woman without any expertise made that name up. 😅
