Those are limelight hydrangeas, which are full sun plants. Normal hydrangeas should not be in full sun.

do you get a lot of debris in your pool? I'm considering planting along my fence line by my pool for some beauty and privacy

Just a tip for us zone 8-9 girlies, don’t put those hydrangeas in full sun. They’ll burn so fast 😂

It’s me :
Smooth and panicle hydrangeas are fine in full sun, the more traditional big leaf hydrangeas ( usually blue/purple round flowers) need protection from afternoon sun sun or they get crispy

It’s the colorful big leaf hydrangeas (that are so gorgeous in New England) that get dramatic in full sun. Almost anything white has been easier for my zone but I still put up with the drama for my endless summers and raspberry varieties

There are different types of hydrangea! Some do well in full sun others don’t. Those look like Annabelle’s or incrediballs! But it also depends on your location, my moms down the cape are full sun and macrophylla. They are amazing 🤷🏻♀️

Depends on your zone and this video is like 10 seconds. I doubt it’s representative of a full day of sun.
