@dnl.blk: I feel extremely fortunate that I am able to attend a Pow Wow. I went when I was around 12-16 with my grandmother, and seeing their dance circles actually had me crying. I saw there was one occurring this weekend and went today. When I finally got a chance to see the dance circles and get closer, I uncontrollably sobbed. Tears were actually falling down my cheeks, lips trembling, and I even shivered a moment despite the extreme heat in the sun. Dramatic? Nah, it was beautiful. I could have fully sobbed if I let myself. I don’t know if it’s a past life calling (as I’ve had a psychic tell my grandmother and I’ve even had confirmed account of seeing a native woman in my childhood bedroom) or the dance and energy being so moving, but I’ve come to a conclusion that i need be attending more. It’s felt so refreshing to just be surrounded by these beautiful dance and songs. I personally LOVE listening to native flute music and it’s almost the only thing that calms me down besides my panic attack meds. I’d really love to know more about my spiritual connection to the native culture, but being a white person, I feel a bit odd about it and want to make sure no offense is occurring. I just have so much love surrounding the culture, the love for animals and nature, the beauty. I can imagine what life would have been like if we just left the natives be, and allowed them to continue to nurture our land and our spirits. I wish it were still that way and I am saddened by their treatment in america and wish we could do more. Please support where you can. It was difficult to get images I loved due to it being so hot and also not having a proper zoom with me, and being in a big crowd. But I’m happy because I was very present during the event when watching the shows this way :)
