Infantry Veteran :
One time our truck got blewedup and it got put in a “yard” and owned by contractors. When one of our critical communications antenna failed, they would not let me take the good one from our broken truck because it was no longer “ours”…

So now you’re going to have contacts that requires the contractor to teach the military members how to fix the things that they sold to the military

We have had problems troubleshooting an issue, sometimes for weeks. Just to find out that “proprietary” information was withheld from us that would have let us figure out the problem literally in minutes.

I don’t disagree with the video, however all the people ready to just blindly jump on the bandwagon is silly. A lot of those contractors are prior military, we just cried about contractors being cut, but now we’re ok firing them. It’s not going to hurt the CEOs it’s mainly us normies that it will hurt. So to cut or not to cut?

Why is S6 so slow?! Why are our comms equipment and IT systems always broke? Why are we taking the M (maintain) out of IOM? See this video. 👏🏼 👏🏼 About time!

What! Got out in 2002. We serviced our own equipment. Sat comm. Always had a motor pool that serviced 5 ton and deuce and a half trucks to support land mobility in S Korea.

Imagine if vets had the option to retrain to replace contractors and could still stay in the service

Nawh I’m a contractor myself, and honestly, most of us try to teach the soldiers how to fix it themselves, but somehow some way then end up putting hydraulic fluid in the coolant reservoirs and water and oil in the fuel tanks… ssooo if that were to start, I’d give it maybe 2 months before contractors are right back to fix all of it

As someone whose job it is to write maintenance for sailors and soldiers, you're being generous with the word "can."

I am mired in Contracting bullshit. I’ve got contractors who’ve been clinging on to my agency for like 30 years and were completely reliant on them for their service. I hate, it slows up everything.
