this!! when i first started getting my nails done it was like $40 a full set.. once it started getting closer to $100 or more a set i quit going to salons and bought the kits to do my own gel sets at home. same with my eyelashes!

I will never be convinced basic hygiene (a haircut) is a luxury service. Full blow outs, extensions, highlights sure. Wash, cut and blow dry is a basic hygiene service.

Yes the $20 extra for aa chrome almost set me over the edge I was sick to my stomach and embarrassed l bought 10 different chrome powders for $15 that can be used a bagillion times. The price gouging is unreal!

For real... I just got a balayage done, on the website it was $180, when I went to pay it was $364 because in the 2 weeks between the day that I booked and the day of the appointment she had become a master stylist and doubled her price THE DAY of my appointment... that SHE also rescheduled twice and tried to cancel 5 minutes before while I was walking to the door. NEVER going to that salon again.

This!! I found a hair dresser who told me my total for a color and cut I literally responded with “are you sure?!” Because it was so affordable AND very high quality work. I will forever return to her. She stays booked because of this. I wish more people in the industry understood this.

Getting nails done is not a luxury. They chose to raise their prices during COVID because they knew people missed the experience of going. Either they need to lower their prices or don’t have any clients.

The chrome kills me. $10-20 add on for chrome? I bought a 4 pack of chrome powder on Amazon for $5. I only go to the salon for special occasions because I have a gel kit and do it myself anddd salons always roast me for wanting very short nails
