Here goes nothing! I haven’t posted on TikTok in almost a year, and for some reason, I feel so nervous about sharing this video! Over the past three years, I’ve been drawn to this ā€œdigital marketing madness,ā€ but I’ve been too afraid to share anything I’ve created—let alone market it! And somehow, I never realized that I have over 20 years of experience in this field! When I was just eight years old, I learned how to use Microsoft PowerPoint. (This is kind of embarrassing, but…) I used to recreate album covers for Usher, Ashanti, and other singers, saving them on floppy disks and USB drives, hoping that one day I’d meet them and they’d use my designs. I wish I could see those designs today! I’ve always had a creative spark. As a kid, my mom bought me a sticker-making machine, and I just knew I was going to be a sticker artist when I grew up. But as I got older, I started hiding my talent. Then, in 2022, God called me to write about my healing journey and learning to love again. I self-published my book, priced it at $17, and linked it in my bio… and nobody bought it. I was so discouraged, but looking back, I only marketed it two or three times! Eventually, I started sharing it for free—but only with select people, because it was so personal. I doubted myself. Was my book even worth anything? Who am I to put this out into the world? Yet, even before that, as a teacher, I was constantly creating amazing slides, documents, and templates for my students, their families, and my coworkers. And every time, people were so impressed by my work. That’s when I had to face the truth: I am my own biggest critic, and that has been holding me back from using the gift that God gave me. For over 20 years, I’ve kept my creativity to myself. Yes, I’ve designed things for friends and family, but I’d always tell them, ā€œPlease don’t tell anyone I made this!ā€ I didn’t want people to start asking me for work. But that stops now. I no longer doubt or fear the gifts God has given me. I have free will, and I choose to use my gifts to glorify Him. Proverbs 18:16 says, ā€œA man’s gift makes room for him and brings him before great men.ā€ How will anyone know I exist or what I have to offer if I never put myself out there? Promoting myself used to feel cringy, especially knowing that people I grew up with might be watching. But I also have the free will not to care what they think—because my God is bigger than my fears, and He can move mountains on my behalf. So, with that being said… ✨ I am officially stepping into the Event Design industry! ✨ I will be accepting orders, promoting myself, and giving this my ALL—with God by my side. Because His word says, I will not fail. Here’s a short and impactful set of hashtags you can use: #faithoverfear #eventdesigner #kingdomentrepreneur #PromoteYourself ✨ Follow @BOOK TODAY šŸŽˆ for custom event designs, decor, and more! ✨
