For my wedding, my former Iranian MIL (US citizen) was held for hours flying from our state to her state for several hours. A white family member (non US citizen) flying in from Europe forgot his passport and was held for like an hour (given treats too) but then released into the US without it. I can’t remember all the details now but even getting approval for Iranians with European passports took forever. All the yt Europeans got approved right away. His uncle who was marrying us didn’t get approved until about 3 weeks before the trip.
