@preschoolvibes: Social media is truly the best form of professional development—I get SO many ideas from other teachers! 🤩 This activity inspired by Play to Learn Preschool is perfect for the beginning of the year. We’ll start by reading The Color Monster and talking about different emotions, sparking some great class discussions. Then we’ll dive into I’m NOT Just a Scribble to explore how emotions can change from happy to sad, angry, or confused. 🎨 Students will each create their own scribble monster by scribbling on a small sheet of paper and adding stickers for faces and expressions. Such a fun way to practice emotional literacy, fine motor skills, and writing development! Find everything you need on my Amazon storefront. @PlayToLearnPreschool #Inverted
Cute mural idea - we do the scribbles as you said. Then I make a huge black line picture of the house and trees etc from the book. Then they color it with paint sticks as a group project (self-control to only color one part). Then we add all the scribbles on the mural. It’s so cute and works on so many different skills while also being a great cooperative art piece for the beginning of the year

This is so cute! Love these stories, I created a magnetic story board with the jars and characters to make a sorting and emotion activity while we read. The kids really enjoyed doing this on their own time as well.

I love the Color Monster. I read it (not showing pics) and have them tell me what come they think goes with each emotion and then reveal the picture so they can see the color

After we read I’m Not Just A Scribble, i also let them make a scribble, then we use black fingerprint to bring the scribble to life by creating faces and other body parts. Great for all about me or body parts themes
