The sister asking why OP wasn’t able to come and help her while in the hospital while OP was literally picking up the pieces of her life, having to become a single parent, learning that her husband cheated on her with a woman half their age, dealing with toxic people, and dealing with a divorce. Then the sister has the gull to say that the affair partner was there for her when the affair partner literally destroyed her sister’s life

How about the YEARS where OP was always there for her sister until the ex broke her. Ex was the reason OP was not mentally capable of being there. Ex was there for the sister cause he wasn't hurt at all and was not picking up pieces like OP was.

YTA. his wife was the only one to visit her sister when her soster thought she was going to die amd you didnt even text you own sister she connected with his wife because she knew the wife was reliable and you werent yeah you xsn pay for her college but that doesn't necessarily make you reliable and that fact that im not even 13 and I can see this and a 43 year old cant is a little concerning

Honestly ngl NTA, OP went through literal hell through her divorce and she was clearly not in a good state or emotionally available for her little sister. It was extremely nice for ex husband and his new wife to step up and look after OP’S little sister but she shouldn’t need to keep a relationship with them over that? I don’t know I completely agree with what OP is saying.

ESH. It was slimy that sister took OP money, however as OP says her parents were but parents and she too ghosted her sister when she almost died 😹 “I assumed” her sister assumed OP didn’t want to know about her friendships either

NTA, Yes her sister was in a accident, but OP also had just found out her husband was cheating, became a single parent, had to work etc , OP sister says "you didnt check on me they did" but her not checking on you didnt seem to matter when she was sending money

I honestly think OP should move to another town/city/whatever to get a fresh start and make new connections. She’s surrounded by betrayal, and I think she’ll have better luck getting to know other people. Obviously it’s not easy to just up and leave, but I think it should be a new possible goal for her and her child.
