This is one of the reasons we can't grow as people. I saw many people saying they are water yam, did you look at the leaves at all? Even though they are water yam, is that how we plan our water yam? Instead of us to learn new things and progress, we rather look for an excuses to back our inefficiencies.
As a matter of fact, we prefer to blame government instead of taking responsibility for our actions.

the fact that yam can grow well and big in a cement bag is an indication that it doesn't require much space to grow, but cultural practices are still holding Africans back from such

WATER YAM OR OIL YAM ITS ALL YAM AND EDIBLE. SAME PLANTING METHOD AND MEDIUM FOR ALL SPECIES OF YAM. WE ALLOWED PLENTY THOSE DAYS BECAUSE OF MULTIPLE OR MIXED CROPPING. IF WE ARE DOING MONO OR SINGLE CROPPING WE NEED TO ADOPT. WATER YAMS HAVE THEIR TIME AND DISHES OTHER YAM SPECIES CANT CONTROL. LETS EXPERIMENT. MOST FARMERS DONT EVEN USE WHOLE YAM SEEDS BUT HAVE PIECE SLICED INTO SEVERAL PIECES AND CUT SURFACES TREATED AND USED TO CULTIVATE. LETS ADOPT AND TRY POSITIVE CHANGES
