Some additional context:
Meyer's basic remedy to breaking Longpoint & Plow with a longsword is to use a Squint cut. However, as briefly shown in the video, it has vulnerability to the opponent changing through beneath it.
In [Long]Sword, he gives the advice to miss your Squint and immediately slice to the new opening, collecting their blade onto your long edge and then fly off to the next opportunity.
In Dussack, he presents a remedy for a scenario where we're anxious about having any opportunity to follow through to another action without getting hit in the process. This is the specific one I drew from for this demonstration:
"If they stand before you in a guard so that you cannot cut through their counterposture, or they execute their counterposture so that you don’t trust yourself to carry out your first provoking cut at the opening without injury, pay attention or take note that you cut through as quickly with the second strike to or toward their weapon (the closer to their hand the better) with one or two strikes opposite one another according to opportunity."
Where my interpretation might break down is in the nature of the counterpostures. They arrive from the high and low cuts entering the point-forward positions as they catch the blow. On review, I might be misapplying this specific play to a held point-forward guard.

I kept thinking of Yojimbo and Seven Samurai during your demonstration. That's a compliment, I hope

So I’m currently fighting against someone with just an axe and a helmet, and all I have is a knife and an arms-length candle holder with legs. How cooked am I?
