@gregrexadams: E85 is a great fuel, but it doesn't offer the same gains on all platforms. We love E85 but some vehicles are going to gain more than others. #cartok #tiktokautocampaign #tuningcar #e85
Do you think it's possible that the 87 octane is making the most power of pump gas, and that's why there wasn't as much of a gain? People tend to want to run 93 in everything when it doesn't need it and that's possibly why E85 picks up so much compared to pump gas I think.
That or the engine doesn't need octane, so the E85 didn't benefit it either.

I agree with everything except running is cheaper....MPG will suffer over gasoline. My car on pump flex has terrible MPG but makes much more power....worth it in that case. If I could run 87 with that close of power number I would stick with 87 unless I was in an area that had Flex at every station. IMHO of course

My Silverado on the dyno for 87 octane was 349, put E85 mixed with 87 octane at E35 and went to 380 to the wheels. 31whp jump on an l83 engine with BYT Stage 1 cam

this is just a personal opinion but you need to give it 31 degrees on e85 at a minimum.

You think the e85 would benefit my l83 5.3 it a di motor. It has kooks 1/78. 6.2 intake manifold and tb and tuned on 93 it made 320 rear wheel and 360 torque on 33x1250s

i have a truck gen 4 6.2 with a texas speed ls3 chopmonster cam factory compression stock fueling. it wouldn’t be worth tuning for e85? it’s just always been ran on 93

Is it normal to not set dyno load? I had my car on one and i thought it was normal to set load, operator set 20% load he said since my converter didnt like no load but it whipped the dyno way fast.

I have a 09 dodge ram with the 4.7 , yes I know not performance truck but it runs good and decent on gas for my daily lol but it has absolutely zero bottom end power I’ve been told a tune can help with this engine .. any thoughts ?

I've been wondering about a single turbo on on the exact same truck just to help with pulling a trailer. How much power could you expect from boost on 87?

I love this summary! If you do the switch for load/ cleaning does your range on a tank drop 10% from say 300mi to 270mi ?

Engine masters did a similar thing. I think they used 93 instead but basically they concluded unless your running like 12+:1 NA or if you have over 10 psi of boost, you don’t need E85. Because to setup the fuel system, tune it, and maintenance isn’t worth it. Yea it’s got cooling but they even looked at manifold temp. It wasn’t different. Until they ran it with a big blower it dropped temps ALOT
