I got a new roof a few weeks ago and they were all talking Spanish when I went outside and I sent a video to my best friend and was like what do I sayyyyy. She took to long to respond so I was like gooood morning, excuse me could someone please move the truck so I can go to work. I was so relieved when the guy was like oh yeah sorry let me get that moved. 🙃 I never want to be offensive 😩

As a Mexican, I wanna say to me when I see someone that doesn't speak Spanish trying to speak Spanish it makes me happy. but if someone automatically speaks to me in Spanish because of the way I look makes me upset. Im I wrong?

I’m white, my husband is half Guatemalan and for some reason when he says gracias at the Mexican restaurant it gives me second hand embarrassment lmao 😂😭😂 to be fair though, they ALWAYS try to speak to him in Spanish he just doesn’t know anything other than the basics

I understand a lot of Spanish but I don’t speak it because I’m embarrassed. 🤦🏼♀️My in-laws always speak Spanish to me and I speak English/sign language to them. 😅 One of my sister in laws is learning English so she will try to speak English to me and I CAN NOT understand her half of the time. It makes me feel so bad constantly saying “huh”. I’d prefer her to just speak Spanish. And THAT is another reason I don’t speak Spanish. 😭🤣

Confidence is everything in my opinion, even mixing English and Spanish together in the sentence. Just proves your trying but also not 100% sure idk if that makes sense.
