My kid’s special interest is greek mythology. For his 10th birthday we surprised him in the middle of the night and flew to Athens. We didn’t book a guide and listened to him talk for 4 days straight 🥰

My son has severe autism and only eats 2 foods one is papa John’s pizza and on thanksgiving and Christmas they r closed and the manager will come in on those days and make Jacob food fresh so doesn’t have to eat warmed over food.

I’m not a parent but every single day…. For show and tell for two years of preschool I brought my most treasured item, a dolphin figurine named Darwin I got at an aquariums gift shop…..and I’d tell everyone I was going to be a marine biologist … Not a single teacher ever made a comment or suggested I bring anything else but acted like Darwin was the most special interesting item in existence. My mom said she had to look up what a marine biologist even was. She never cared that I didn’t care about dolls or anything that wasn’t related to marine life and the ocean. I turn 35 this week… Darwin has a special stand on my shelf and my first job in my field was at the same aquarium I got him from and when I got that job I came home and sat down with Darwin and told him we did it. 🥹

I'm autistic. I turned 30 this year. my friends helped me plan a BYO arts&crafts party. we had a picnic outside and everyone did their own art. Just a large parallel play gathering. it was the best bday party I've ever had in my whole life.

I own a bus company. I was in a local cafe. Saw one of our uniform shirts on a young man. I was a little confused. Where’d he get that. I asked my team. Someone said “oh he lives by the garage, he’s obsessed with the buses, so we gave him a shirt” I got his dad’s number. He has custom shirts now, every bit of bus swag we have, and an invite to come go for a ride. Idc if it’s my kid or someone else’s. Let them be kids, it’s what community is about.

My son was obsessed with IKEA. They gave us a behind the scenes tour, IKEA swag and free dinner in the restaurant. We went back to visit countless times after that because it felt like “home” to him.
