Deuteronomy 6:4-5 is "the law". There are 10 topics the law addresses. Grouped under the ten categories, there are some principles of Godliness (huqim) and some examples of opportunities to keep the law of deu 6:4-5 by doing Godliness (mitzvahs). Beyond these we legislate 613 laws derived from the law,the topics, the principles and the opportunities for Godliness, that help us to collectively live a Godly life in the community of believers.

The law of God is life. That’s what he commanded let there be light. That was Gods law. Gods law is the word he speaks. He brought all things to be by his law. To break his law is a sin. To break what he commanded to be is to not be anymore which is death. It’s why the completion of sin is death. All lawlessness ends at death sin is complete. The forgiveness of that lawlessness is the resurrection. Death stops sin. The resurrection which the anointed one said I am the resurrection. He forgives that sin you had too die to. Once you sin the only way out is through death.
