@theorlandoreal: Brightline has applied for $400 million in tax-exempt bonds to help fund its planned high-speed rail extension from Orlando to Tampa. 🚄 The proposed route would run from Orlando International Airport along I‑4, reducing travel time to about an hour. A public hearing on the bond request is scheduled for July 17. Would this potential route to Tampa be useful for you?
If it wasn’t $400 round trip for a family of 4 I would do this once a month from Orlando to Miami. It only takes me $100 in gas to do that round trip in a car…

I took the brightline down to Miami from Orlando with my wife recently. Honestly loved it, and easily beat having to make that kind of drive. We would definitely use brightline if they added a route to Tampa

Too expensive this is what happens when you privatize transportation. We NEED PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION NOT PRIVATE BUSINESS TAKING UP THE SPACE IN TRANSPORTATION.

I was told that private companies do everything better. that train costs more than driving there, flying there, taking a bus etc etc. it's the cheapest travel everywhere else in the world, most expensive mode here.

brightline is not an economical way to travel. it's ok once in a while by yourself.

How about more like 45 minutes 😒 and not a $200 ticket

The real problem isn’t the cost, it’s the fact that once in Ybor City/Tampa there’s no decent public transit. You’d have to uber or rent a car anywhere. They should talk with the new Rays owner to get a stop at the new stadium.

People. A trip to miami is $80. Not $200-$400. If they do this from MCO to tampa it would cost roughly 30 bucks. C’mon… Orlando needs this, orlando has the WORST transportation system, this is what really makes traffic less horrible, an extra lane does nothing after 2-3 years
