If you read an arc and dislike it, YOU CAN PRETEND IT NEVER HAPPENED. It's all jumbled anyway, so you get to define what sticks for YOU.

This is my reason I can't really ever get into western comics. I have read a ton of them in my life, but I always reach a point where the story I'm enjoying becomes predicated on something I haven't read yet, and that immediately kills all my desire to read. It happens even in very straightforward books like Invincible. I just hate not being able to get one single story

I would also add paying attention to writers that you like and seeing what else they wrote. If you like Chip Zdarsky’s Daredevil, you’ll probably also like his writing on Spider-man.

another great thing to do is finding a run you like and reading more from that writer or from that artist, that can give you access to new characters super easily too!

I would add an extra optional step for once you have a couple of bloom experiences under your belt: start paying attention to writers that you like and then give a chance to other stuff that they have/are writing. Same goes for themes: start noticing what kind of stories/topics/portions of the universe you enjoy more or are curious about and then seek out comics that explore them.
