This SAME THING has happened to me in my local scene. The men i was working with were literally taking ideas from me and putting them through ai to generate their compositions. I was so disgusted i cut ties immediately. I am doing it solo now and i don't regret it at all. It's harder without "connections" but i get so much more out of every experience because my "connections" aren't freaking STEALING from me.

One from the MS Gulf Coast region was Dusti Bongé. She was also a fantastic abstract expressionist, and she encouraged kids to do their own art, make art that made them happy, and not feel forced to conform what they were told was 'good or correct' art. I don't know that anyone ever heard of her outside of her local area, but I wish more people knew her name.

I completely understand your point, but I could say the same thing about the patriarchal gallery owners in New York during the same period of time or even post World War II I could say the same thing about the fact that more women graduate with our degrees from universe, but are only shown at a rate of 25% in the galleries. Even Mary Boonehas less than 25% women in her stable. And now with Donald Trump cutting all arts and arts outlets we were often than we’ve ever been.
