Got out 5 years ago. Started a business and have been pretty successful. I miss the military days more than anything. It sucks out here

You're only important until you no longer serve the means of the military mission then they don't give a shit anymore. If they did care maybe they would of changed how soldiers, marines , airmen or seamen were treated while in the military and have already saved retention from being so low in certain fields.

literally the exact conversation my CO gave me when I was getting out. he said I wouldn't make it in the civilian world and I'd end up broke .

It's crazy.. how all across the military. Senior leaders say the SAME damn thing when people want to get out to better their lives and families. Literally got the talk before I got it. Saying: "You won't survive out there, and you'll be homeless"

If Id have known what I know... 8 years active. year 2.5-7 would have been in college and then follow on courses. Unfortunately they don't tell you about that shit as a boot. I had SSgts getting their Masters and shit LATE. Use that TA, Marines.

When I got selected for SSGT they set my date of promotion for one day after my EAS so I would have to re-enlist again to get it. Then they laughed about it.

my 1stSgt tried to send me to jump school as I was about to EAS 🤨 i just took myself off from the SSgt board and I was just an admin with knee issues 🤔
