@drjenwolkin: #onthisday “Fight flight freeze fawn” sometimes includes trying to outrun or out achieve the trauma we’ve experienced. This of course is not possible and we often feel exhausted burnout and defeated This of course only perpetuates any unhelpful story we’ve told ourselves post trauma. Something to take note of, gently. This doesn’t mean we can’t have dreams or goals. We absolutely can! They are important. THIS post isn’t speaking to that. This post speaks about the kind of overworking that leads to constant bouts of burnout As always my posts aren’t one size fits all. Take what resonates and leave the rest. If it feels SAFE to do so, comment below how this has shown up for you? Remember, this community is mindful and loving to one another when we are in conversation. Tips: 1. Notice this pattern 2. Gentle w self as you make the discovery of the connection between your busy-ness and trauma response. 3. Work with trauma informed guidance to expose yourself to more time not being busy, and to expand your “window of tolerance” (that sweet spot where you function most effectively, where you can receive, process, and integrate info, and coping skills meet the demands of your environment) 4. When it feels hard and winding, remind yourself: Healing isn’t linear. 5. Stay accountable AND gentle as you go through this process. 6. Validate EVERY baby step! Love you, XO, Dr. Jen #busy #traumatok #traumahealing #traumaresponse #trauma
