@myprettyinfertilelife: I had no idea I had placenta accreta. No warning. No time. One moment I was meeting my baby, the next I was bleeding out… I woke up without my uterus. I’m so grateful to be alive, but the grief is real. I didn’t just lose an organ I lost future dreams, and a piece of me I wasn’t ready to say goodbye to no matter how much we didn't get along💔 #birthtraumaawareness #placentaaccretasurvivor #placentaaccretaawareness #birthtraumahealing #emergencyhysterectomy
How did it go undiagnosed wasn't it seen on ultrasound?

Happened to me. Except I gave birth to my uterus as well. My placenta was grown thru the uterus. Went back to the OR and cardiac arrest 3 times and 13 liters of blood. Was on life support as well. . Only way they could keep me alive was cut me open and do a hysterectomy. Luckily and very fortunate that was my 2nd baby. Have a 25 yr old daughter and son will be 18 in a few months. Sad part is I beggged my dr to do a c-section because I knew something wasn’t right. 😞😞😞

Increta and CPP here. Several terrifying bleeds and a 31 week delivery later…We’re a very small group, but we are here. I’m glad you made it to the survivor side🩷

There needs to be a support group for us girlies who didn’t get a happy birth experience and instead left with scars beyond just an incision scar. Your baby’s birth is suppose to be joyous and it’s so hard to be happy when you almost die yourself and spend weeks in the ICU after your baby is discharged and months recovering physically (and years recovering mentally(. Soooo many people say ‘Well at least the baby was healthy.’ Of course, I’m ecstatic it was me and not the baby who suffered but good god did I suffer.

I'm so sorry!! I nearly died having my first daughter at 18 from severe preeclampsia that had came out of nowhere where my blood pressure was 193/118 and then my organs all stopped working and functioning. Where I had my little girl at 28 weeks. Now I’m terrified to have more kids worrying that its going to happen again and I’m gonna put myself in danger and my baby plus I don't want to pass away and my children have to live without a mother but I was always wanted to have three kids. 💀🥲

my mom had this when she had my brother in 1971. 13 units of blood that came out as fast as they pumped in it while they did her hysterectomy. my brother came home long before her. and was in ICU so none of us could visit her. I thought she wouldn't come home at all, but God said it wasn't her time. Grateful.

Mine was diagnosed form early on and I still almost ☠️. My husband said there were 30 people in the operating room. I can’t think about it 5 years later. Even though I probably wouldn’t have had any more kids it’s still devastating. Get on to some support groups on Facebook. It helps a bit to hear other stories and to know you’re not alone. Wishing you an easy recovery. Easier said than done but try not to dwell on it right now and miss the newborn stage.

Oh momma Im so sorry. As a momma whose daughter also had a traumatic birth and subsequent lost her uterus and any plans for future babies, it’s not easy. The grief is ongoing, make sure you get a good therapist.

genuine question: how does this get missed with regular prenatal care? I'm pregnant for the second time, 1st was a scheduled csec for frank breech. I've already been told at 14 weeks that I likely have placenta accreta based on my low anterior placenta, they're confirming at 18 weeks, and they've already told me to prepare for a 35-36 week csec/hyst.

I'm sorry you went through that. I hope you're feeling better after everything 🩵 My mother had placenta accreta when she had me. The placenta grew through her uterus and into the wall of her bladder. When she started contracting, everything tore away. We both almost died. So thankful for her doctor that save her life twice.

And it’s so unfathomable that some of us don’t want to go through this especially with an unwanted pregnancy.

Praying for you🙏. With my last son my water broke at 22 1/2 weeks. I was put in the hospital when they realized i had placenta previa percreta. Thankfully i was able to not go into labor or get an infection and had an emergency csection at 31weeks. I had to have bladder repair surgery and a hysterectomy due to the massive bleeding. Thankful to have survived and so did my son.

Prayers for healing. ❤️🩹. I didn’t have placenta accerta but my OB had a very hard time removing my placenta. He had to pull it out in pieces because it was stuck inside my uterus bc I had a dry birth.

mama you're so strong. you survived something so scary. it's OK to grieve your dreams. there are still options to make those dreams happen if and when you are ready but first you heal and hold that baby as much as you need.
