@j.alan.paul: why is it that even good news causes me too question everything? cancer is one of the only situations where getting good news can be just as frustrating as getting bad. #kfg #kfglife #sideeffects #cancerfighter #cancersucks #fkcancer #cancer #cancerbattle #chemo #coloncancer #breastcancer #leukemia #lymphoma

Your so right about everything that your saying, I’m going through the same thing, and yes it gets hard, but we have to keep pushing and pray to continue having strength to overcome this obstacle.

I've been off chemo for 3 months but they said radiation is still pounding those cells. I'd say histrotripsy you can be in treatment and have it done! I'm waiting on surgery

I have liver cancer. I understand where you’re coming from. If the chemo is working and you’re healthy enough to continue it I would stay on chemo. I’ve had 2 liver resections and ablation…the more your liver can heal, the better. Another surgery would set it back from that healing process. And not the mention the scaring ablation and resection can cause….which can put you at a higher risk for cirrhosis. Plus all the risks that go along with surgery, I’d put off the surgery as long as possible.

My thought from oncology RN. I understand, it is so scary to pause….get it out! It is easy procedure and take care of growth after.

Have you ever been on immunotherapy? It works well to keep it at bay!

I can empathize with you. Stg 4 pancreatic with Mets to liver and I found a Dr who would use various ablations including nanoknife to my primary tumor in pancreas and multiple lesions in my liver. I don’t ever want to say I should have done this or that.

I mean, idk ur cancer, but my guys was metastatic lung, and stage 4,he obviously died, but we were told at that stage,no matter what,he would never be cancer free,he could show no evidence of disease on scans n stuff, but it will keep popping up and it would be treated as a chronic lifelong disease, constantly getting lines of treatment until there was nothing left they could do...is that where ur at,after all these years,I would assume, but I don't want to assume. if that is the case,I see ur dilemma, new growths are not always so easy to shrink down like people are saying, and it's scary when it goes to a whole new place that it wasn't at before. lung loves the brain and thats what took my loves life. ugh .

Is the spot on your liver? If so, can you do histotripsy for it instead?

I had my ablation on my liver 3 spots ( they couldn’t get from surgery) and I didn’t have to be off chemo. I had my ablation on a Wednesday and had chemo the next Monday. I’m being treatment at Md Anderson

I think your doing the absolute right thing to question the surgery. Such a hard decision. If it doesn't go in the way you were hoping you'll question why did it.

I understand 100%. My diaphram is paralyzed caused by Chemo. I can have surgery to repair but my Oncologist told me I will need to be off Chemo for a month before and a month after. I want to breathe good again because I'm so short of breath but I don't want any new growth or bigger nodules in my lungs. Prayers to you for what you decide. Im sending hugs and love. 💙

Back then you still had your primary tumor. Now this is the only spot. What is your CEA? If it is low it is not active right now and you have time to get it out!

it's better that, than to have an Oncology team that does nothing. Even when you tell them something isn't right, that youre in pain, you're numbers are going up and they still won't order scans.

What about doing SBRT to the one spot and you then will have an easier recovery. And could you use the chemo pill for the time between? I have had the sbrt to the liver worked and has not came back ! 2022

My mind says if you go off chemo for two months +\~ and the C comes back, it was never completely gone. So, I’d like to think my choice would be the ablation.

Have you looked into the use of and timing the spot removal with Histotripsy yet?.. (if you are a good candidate) I had read Histotripsy can be used in conjunction with chemotherapy.

question. is this the spot that was the toughest one to get rid of? get rid of hard spot then back to chemo to shrink the new growth? like you have been?
