@andyfilmsandhikes: OK I’m gonna be vulnerable here and talk about my weight and specific numbers. Not because numbers matter but I want you to see the scale of what’s happening here, no pun intended….On January 1, 2024, I weighed 400 lbs. I got serious about the gym and stayed consistent, but I couldn’t get control over my binge eating disorder. By January 1, 2025, I was 360 lbs. By May 15, still 360. I felt stuck. On June 4, after talking with my doctor and family, I started a GLP-1 medication through Mochi Health(@joinmochi) Today, July 16, I weigh 315 lbs. Since then, everything has started to shift. My joint pain is gone. My sleep apnea is gone. I sleep through the night now. The food noise is quiet. And for the first time, my body feels like it’s working with me. There’s still a long way to go, but now I actually want to keep going. And the non-scale victories? I no longer need a seatbelt extender on planes. I bought a shirt off the rack at an Oregon State Park gift shop. I’m able to sit in the booth at a restaurant! I hike farther and recover faster. I sit comfortably in chairs. I say yes to things I used to avoid. And mentally? Everything is lighter. The shame and exhaustion have started to lift. I feel clearer, calmer, more focused. I’m not constantly battling my body or my brain just to get through the day. I’ve spent years in the body positive and fat liberation space. I still believe in respect and dignity for every body, no matter the size. I also believe in bodily autonomy. This journey is mine, and I’m doing what’s best for my health—physical and mental. No one else gets to decide that. I’m grateful. For this body that keeps showing up. For this tool. For all of you who’ve supported me with kindness. Let’s keep it honest. Let’s keep it kind. Let’s keep going.

Dude, I’ve been meaning to tell you this for a few months, but in November of ‘22 I came unthinkably close to an unreversable decision. I found you on here in early December of ‘22, and spent a couple days binging your podcast and content. 8 months later, I finally took a long over due vacation to Olympic (I’m from the east coast).Long story short, you helped me get back in the outdoors hiking, connecting with nature, and enjoying life again. Thanks you!!

You’re an inspiration. I want to lose a bunch of weight and also want to live in Oregon someday, so your TikTok’s inspire me to do both.

Well said. Just came home from my first solo camping trip. Granted it was a state park but I did it!! I hurt and a nap is in my future but 6 months ago I couldn’t even lift a tent let alone put one up! You keep me motivated 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
