Nicki’s legacy would have been easily extended had she embraced the next generation. I was too young for Kim, so when Nicki was popping off, I was excited. I was so green, but something about her skillset was questionable. I’ve come to the stage, after listening, exploring, and searching out other women, especially the ones not that mainstream. Nicki is…an average ass rapper. I found women like 3D, Sa-roc, Rapsody, Little Simz. And the. You have newer artist like Megan, Doechii, Latto- who are lyrically gifted ( the music may not be for every1) but the skillset is there. Nicki is just not that good. Her music is so elementary and superficial, hence all the kids loving her. She was pushed as being the greatest, I’m not falling for the PR anymore. She’s just not. She has the numbers, because she’s a POP STAR.

I definitely agree! Not to take away from her talent but she was the only female rapper for yearsssss!! She had no competition. She’s was also good at marketing, her being a black female rapper she automatically win with black women, fake butt attracted men, she had ppl thinking she was bi so she wins the LGBTQ community, becoming the Harajuku Barbie brings in the young Japanese..she was literally tapping every market to garner a solid fan base and she did it

i was born in ‘98 but i enjoy the older artist that you named more then newer. BUT when nicki dropped she was the IT rapper for my generation and was everywhere. so now as an adult to see her fall off so bad is crazy. it’s the same for wayne & drake. those 3 were my childhood and they all have been disappointing. it would be for yall like pac becoming a 🦝 or a cornball after years of being the one that stood up and spoke out.
