Be honest with him about the choices you made and how it affected you. Tell him all those things you did that you regret and let him know you don’t want him to have those same regrets. be real, be honest, set high expectations and then support him and push him to meet them. I feel teenagers need someone pushing and believing in them. Of course to a certain extent!

I’m a middle school teacher and so often I see/hear kids say that their parents “don’t care”. And to that I say, my best advice is to show interest in whatever he likes!! Ask questions, spark conversations, etc. let him know you’re actually interested and invested in his middle school life 🫶🏾

Most definitely be open and honest with him. Tell him your story & tell him why you want his to be different. Also make sure he knows its not ok to bully others that have different likes as his. Wishing you the best. Middle School is so hard.
